New Salem Mass Choir
The New Salem Mass Choir recorded its first CD, “We Win,” live in concert a few years ago. It is a soulful, spirit-filled collection of music that will inspire, encourage and minister to those who hear it. The multi-generational choir has opened for gospel artists such as Ricky Dillard and New Generation and Donald Lawrence and the Tri-City Singers.
The New Salem Mass Choir, founded in 1999 is under the pastorate of Dr. Keith A. Troy and musical direction of Drs. Milton and Merlyn Ruffin. The New Salem Mass Choir, which is comprised of approximately 100 members, released a follow-up project, “Sweet Aroma” a few years after “We Win”. The choir ministers weekly at both the 7:30am and 10:45am services at New Salem and leads congregants into the very presence of God.
Dr. Milton Ruffin wrote the submission piece, “Great is the Name”, some 25 + years ago. It was originally recorded by Keith Dobbins and Resurrection Mass Choir. The melody and the message of the song are timeless. The name of the Lord will never cease to be great!
